Coronavirus is still on the prowl, riots and violence in the streets, mountains on fire, nation divided. Any normal human being would ask themselves, “What in the world is going on??” And it’s okay to ask this question. However, the crucial matter is HOW we go about answering this question. As a Christian, we rest in one of the most comforting truths Christ ever offered where He says, “And behold, I am with you always, TO THE END OF THE AGE.” (Mt 28:19b). Now, I’m not suggesting that this is the end of the world…well, who knows lol. No, but in all seriousness, what we do find is at the time Christ was about to leave to go back to the Father, He tells His disciples that HE WILL BE WITH THEM! And not only for a short moment, but TO THE END OF THE AGE!
So to answer the question, “What in the world is going on??” We can speculate all we want, but at the end of the day, God is the One who knows. And He not only knows, but is working everything together for our good and His glory! (Rom 8:28). We can trust Him to carry us through because we are His children and Christ Himself is with us to guide us through the good, bad, and ugly. So let’s rest assured in that promise, and be the light for others to see that God is doing something awesome in the midst of something tragic!
